From the Director

veterans_dayYou may be thinking Halloween, but we are already thinking about Veterans Day here at PCK. Traditionally, we host an all-school assembly and invite veterans who are part of the PCK family to join us so that we can honor and thank them for their sacrificial service to our great country.  Unfortunately, this year, we are unable to host our usual Veterans Day event, but we do not want the day to go by without notice.  So, in lieu of a full blown assembly, we will be remembering our veterans in the following ways:

  1. Morning announcements will include a reading of the President’s Veterans Day proclamation
  2. All students will gather around the outside flagpole for the raising of the flag and Pledge of Allegiance
  3. Teachers will show an age-appropriate video about Veterans Day in their classroom or engage the students in a discussion about the significance of Veterans Day
  4. Our hallway bulletin boards will reflect the pictures and profiles of PCK family veterans

We need your help! Using the link below, you can print a Veterans Day template to complete as a family.  We would love it if you would share a picture of the special veteran(s) in your family…feel free to complete as many profiles as you’d like…and tell us a little bit about them.  The students and staff enjoy walking through the halls and reading the profiles of our veterans, and this is one way that we can honor their memory.

Once you’ve completed a profile, please drop it off at the front office.  We will post all profiles on hallway bulletin boards the week leading up to Veterans Day, so please turn in your completed profile no later than Monday, November 7th.

Thank you, in advance, for helping us remember the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Message from Kyla Hopkins(5th grade) and family:

We would like to express our thanks to the staff and students at PCK for making the fundraiser for Detective Dan Brite and Parker PD breakfast a huge success.  The school raised over $1800 for Detective Brite and the members of Parker PD were treated to an awesome breakfast!
This small gesture let these men and women and their families know that people care about them and that they are an important part of our community.

Thank you again for a job well done! – Craig, Patti, and Kyla Hopkins

Thank You
