11/3/16
From the Director

In her role as School Counselor, Mrs. McClure works as an extension of the Administration, and as an advocate for students. Her primary responsibilities include helping students develop greater self-awareness, pro-social skills, and other techniques that help them to be successful both socially, and academically. She will be forming friendship groups, ’Stop and Think’ groups, and other groups designed to meet student needs, while also assisting individual students with specific needs both in and out of the classroom. She also helps students ‘detangle’ the dynamics between friends that often lead to peer conflict. She is friendly, accessible, and excited to work with our students.
Please join me in welcoming Mrs. McClure to our staff!

They will bring back the award and show it off at a celebration assembly on Thursday, Nov. 10th. In addition, they have declared that Thursday be an All School Dress Down Day! We will highlight their Washington trip in next week’s news!

Every student’s login is the same as their Google login. Students simply go to https://www-k6.thinkcentral
Khan Academy is another great resource where you can find extra support for your children in math. Khan Academy has partnered with NWEA, the MAP test creators, to align lessons according to RIT scores. MAP tests are given three times a year at PCK to help us benchmark what students have learned throughout the year.
