From The Director

Dear PCK Families,

As we embark on the long Valentine’s and Presidents Day weekend, I want to take a minute to thank you for participating in our recent round of parent-teacher conferences. We value our relationship with you, and it is always through this strong partnership that we are able to best serve each child. Maintaining open lines of honest and timely communication is what allows us to share information back and forth…information that is vital to the teachers’ ability to meet your child’s needs. Thank you for trusting that each teacher and staff member here at PCK wants what’s best for your child and stands ready to provide the highest level of academic support possible. I love that we partner this way!

Speaking of love, I can’t let the opportunity go by without telling you once again how much we love and cherish your precious children. We love the time we spend with them…teaching, coaching, talking, laughing and learning. Thank you for the trust you place in PCK’s program, staff and processes; it is our privilege to educate your sons and daughters.

Wishing all PCK families a wonderful Valentine’s Day enjoying and celebrating the love of family, children, and the caring, supportive community we all share.

Mrs. Aplin

Happy Holiday Weekend

We hope you enjoy the long Presidents Day weekend. PCK will be closed on Friday, February 14 and Monday, February 17.

Congratulations, Champions!

The PCK girls basketball team won the SMAC League Championship against Academy Charter, beating them 32-12. The Cougars went 16-0 for the season; both JV and Varsity teams were undefeated! Thank you to students and staff who came to support the team. Way to go, girls! We are PCKProud of you.

Prepare To Be Amazed

If you didn’t get a chance to enjoy our elementary Art Show when you were here for conferences, make sure you come back before February 26 to see the amazing things our students created. Their work is fantastic!

If You Like Snow, We Need Your Help

photo of a show shovel moving snowWe need help shoveling the blacktop portion of our backyard (we do not shovel our turf field or the wood chips under the playground equipment). We have shovels you can use, so feel free to stop by and borrow one at our front desk any time between 7:35 – 9:30am if you can help us out. If you have a snow blower you can bring, that is even better! The depth of snow we currently have is stopping us from playing outside, so we appreciate any help we can get. You can also sign up to help with shoveling here. Additionally, middle school students who would like to stay after school to shovel can earn community service credit for helping. Students should see Mr. Goode to make after-school arrangements.

We Won’t Get Viruses From Our Computers

A HUGE thank you goes to Jeanne Reslan and the team of volunteers who cleaned the hundreds of school laptops last weekend. Our star helper was kindergartener Chloe T. who took on the very important job of getting out each laptop for the volunteers to clean, then putting it back into its cart. The team could not have done such an efficient job without her, proving small packages can do big things to help their community. Thank you, Chloe!

Please keep an eye out for the next time we offer this volunteer opportunity. It helps us to protect our investment in the school’s tech equipment, and it slows the spread of germs during peak illness season.

Calling All Teachers

We are looking for substitute teachers. If you have a teaching license and a CDE Sub license, you can apply through our website. If you do not have a license and are wondering if your experience might qualify you to be a substitute, please contact Heather Newbrough.

Double Check Your Volunteer Hours

Please take a minute to log into Raptor to double check your volunteer hours. If your total is incorrect, please contact the front desk. All PCK families agree to donate 20 volunteer hours each school year.

Take The Night Off From Cooking

Next Thursday, February 20, we have a Spirit Night at the Tokyo Joe’s at Lincoln and Parker Road from 4:00 – 8:30pm. When you enjoy your dinner out that night, make sure you mention PCK to the cashier so the school gets a portion of the proceeds.

Coffee Chat With Mrs. Aplin Rescheduled

Since our last Coffee Chat was canceled due to a delayed start, all PCK parents are now invited to an informal Coffee Chat on Tuesday, February 25 at 8:15am in the Middle School Commons. This is a time to ask questions and hear about things happening around the school. There is no set agenda – you are free to ask any questions you like about PCK, or just come listen to the discussion.

Great news from King Soopers Community Rewards: Last Quarter your participation raised over $1,700 for our school. That’s a lot of groceries! We really appreciate your support. If you have any questions or need assistance getting your King Soopers account registered, please check out our Facebook page, information by the front desk, or contact The Foundation for help.

Get Your Gala Tickets Today

You won’t want to miss our annual Spring Gala and Auction on Saturday, April 25 at 6:00pm at the Colorado Golf Club. This is a special night out for PCK parents (without the kiddos) while supporting our school. Your ticket includes dinner, dessert, one drink (a cash bar is also available for additional drinks), games, a photo booth, and both a live and silent auction. Get your tickets here.

We really appreciate all of our PCK family business owners and their support for our school and fundraising efforts. Sponsors at the $500 level and above have the opportunity to share information about their businesses. We love supporting locally owned businesses!

Sponsor Spotlight:

We are thrilled to be able to sponsor the Spring Gala again this year with a Parent’s Night Out – click here to register. The kids are going to have a blast at our Glow In the Dark party, and Gala-goers may drop their students off early!

Our original Parker location has been open for almost four years, but in December of 2018 we became the sole owners. Our programs have grown from offering gymnastics, to also including Parker’s only All-Star Cheer program, tumbling, and Ninja. We are excited for our new Mainstreet location to open this Spring. To thank our PCK family for your support over the past five years, we are offering a free class to any new family wanting to try our cheer and Ninja programs. When you love it, we’ll waive your registration fee. ~ Kevin & Marlene Warr

silhouette image of a man and little girl dancing with the words Father Daughter Dance in purpleThe father/daughter dance is right around the corner on February 29 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at PCK, and our PTA needs your help. We still need volunteers to help with set up and clean up, so please click here to sign up to help.

Tickets will go on sale the week before the dance and must be purchased online. They will not be available at the door.

We Still Need CMAS Snacks

image of snack food packagesOur students love getting special snacks during CMAS testing, coming up after Spring Break. Please see this Sign Up Genius to volunteer to bring snacks. Remember that every $25 you spend on your donation counts as a volunteer hour.

Thank You, Safety Dads!

Thank you to those who volunteered to Stand Up For Safety this week: Kevin Giardini, Tyler Storfa, Marc Suhanyi, and Jeffrey Fonda. Your help is very much appreciated.
