From The Director

Dear PCK Parents,

Happy Valentine’s Day!  As you celebrate those you love today, please know that today, and everyday, we are blessed to be able to love on (while we educate) your children.  Nothing fills our hearts more than their smiles, hugs, questions, effort and, yes, even the occasional mistakes they make. They are delightful works-in-progress!

On behalf of the entire PCK staff, we hope you and your family have a wonderful Valentine’s Day enjoying the simple joy of family, friends, and the love you share.

Enjoy the long weekend!

Congratulations, Cougars!

Our boys basketball team won back-to-back championships when they beat American Academy in overtime last week for the 2018-2019 SMAC Basketball title. They also had a perfect season, going 16-0. Great job, boys!

Way To Go, Math Team!

PCK’s middle school competitive math team sent 9 students to the Mathcounts Chapter Competition at the University of Denver on February 2nd. They came in 6th place in the team competition, and two students just missed out on qualifying for the state competition. Eshaan Sharma and Bryce Wetzle led the way, placing 36th and 38th respectively. Nice job, team!

We Need Tissues

Please Keep Sick Kids Home

images of sick kidsTo help protect the health of all students and staff, please keep your child at home if he or she has one or more of the following symptoms:

  • fever of 100 degrees or more
  • sore throat
  • rash
  • stomach pain
  • conjunctivitis (pink eye)
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea

Be sure your child is free of these symptoms for at least 24 hours before returning to school. Some communicable diseases require a longer stay at home. Thanks for helping to keep everyone healthy!

Get Jumping For Kids Heart Challenge

The Physical Education Department has our annual Kids Heart Challenge (jump rope unit) in February. During this month-long unit, we partner with the American Heart Association to teach your students how to take care of their hearts and be heart healthy. Every year we conclude the unit with special Jump Rope Challenge Days on February 27 and 28. On these days we encourage students to dress down and donate to the American Heart Association. We ask for a one-time $10 donation (cash prefered) on Wednesday, February 27. Students will give their donations to their classroom teachers. All K-8 students may participate, and all donations go to the American Heart Association. We look forward to an exciting month of the Kids Heart Challenge.
