Establishing a Grit & Grow Mindset: Investing in Your Child
Wednesday, Feb. 22nd at 6:00 PM
Being academically successful may come easy to some students, but for most it takes persistence, practice, and perseverance. Frankly, it takes GRIT. Developing ‘gritty students’ is a passion of ours, and we are fortunate to have access to the faculty and staff at Colorado Early Colleges Parker (CECP) as a resource. CECP Head of School, Dr. Alex Tuel, will be our guest presenter. Along with key staff members, Alex and his team will share strategies and insights important to all parents who have a desire to develop grittier kids. Please join us for a one hour discussion to hear more about CECP’s program and how you too can be intentional in your efforts to instill GRIT in your children.
Please RSVP by Tuesday, February 21st to firstname.lastname@example.org
Surviving Girl Drama
Friday, Feb. 24th at 2:00 PM.
Surviving Girl Drama is an informative session for parents…moms in particular. Girl drama is a fairly common occurrence between girls after 3rd or 4th grade, and it can follow some predictable and destructive pathways if not handled properly. PCK School Counselor, Erin McClure, along with PCK’s Character Coach, Diane Daniels, will host an interactive forum for parents designed to explore this relational dynamic between girls. During the one-hour session, our two presenters will provide information, strategies, and resources to help parents understand how to guide and coach their daughter(s) through these relational rough patches. Come prepared to ask questions, share experiences and lessons learned, and engage with other PCK parents in an open dialogue about this important topic.

Heart Association Dress Down Days – Next Week
As part of an ongoing unit in the Month of February in the Elementary School Physical Education classes, Mr. Bauer, Mr. Cruz, and Mr. Minshall have partnered with The AHA and Jump Rope for Heart to bring PCK students the knowledge and joy of being physically active and fit. In celebration of this we would like the students to take part in two $5 Donation Dress Down Days to celebrate the end of their Jump Rope for Heart Unit. All Students K-8 may donate and dress down on the two days, donating $5 per day to the American Heart Association. We ask students to please follow dress down day rules and guidelines. Jump Rope Dress Down Days are as follows:
All Grades Wednesday Feb 22, 2017
All Grades Thursday Feb 23, 2017
If you are willing, please allow your child(ren) to dress down on both days and give the $5 donation to benefit the AHA. All donations will be collected by the classroom teachers, and delivered to the PE teachers.
Thank you for your help in this process!
