From The Director

Do you like money? Who doesn’t, right? Are you good at raising it? If so, the Foundation at PCK needs your particular skills. The Foundation at PCK works very hard all year long to organize three key fundraising events. Each event is designed to target a different population or source for fundraising, and the combined events annually net a significant sum for PCK. These monies are used to help PCK purchase larger ticket items that fall outside the scope of our general operating budget. In past years, the Foundation has purchased items such as lockers for our middle school, an electronic marquee sign for our carpool loop, risers for music, basket ball hoops, computers and carts, and, of course, our new turf field and many of the ‘extras’ for our new building. Through the Foundation’s efforts, and the generous contributions of PCK families, the school was able to acquire these extra items for our students.

Of course, none of this happens without a lot of hard work, and like our other parent-led organizations here at PCK, the Foundation could use new members with new ideas and energy. If you enjoy fundraising, have connections outside of PCK that you could tap, or if you simply enjoy organizing events such as our annual Gala and FunDRun, the Foundation might be a great organization for you to consider joining. The Foundation meets monthly during the morning here at PCK.

If you have an interest in learning more about the Foundation at PCK, I encourage you to attend one of the monthly meetings (see the PCK school calendar for dates and times), or contact the Foundation Chair, Jennifer Quint at jennyrquint@gmail.com. The work of the Foundation is vital to PCK’s success, and it is a great way to meet other parents while helping PCK. Please consider joining the Foundation at PCK!

Hot Lunch News

After Spring Break, we will have a new hot lunch vendor. Wholesome Food Services offers a variety of lunch options to meet many dietary needs, including gluten free, vegetarian, and whole grain choices. They also have selections from local restaurants we think our students will love. Additionally, pizza will be an option with Wholesome Food Services, so we will no longer have “pizza days” from Papa John’s.

Our current vendor, My Kid’s Lunch, has already issued refunds for lunches ordered past March 16. Please watch for your refund and contact My Kid’s Lunch with any questions about your account.

Ordering information will be available soon, so please watch for details in the PCK Weekly News.
