We Want To Hear From You

We use your feedback to shape our school! Please complete our annual parent survey today to let us know what has worked well this year and how we can improve. It is completely anonymous, and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Thank you for sharing your comments and suggestions with us!

Morning Mask Checks

This is a friendly reminder to make sure your child has a mask, as well as a spare one in the backpack, before heading to school each morning. We are seeing an increase in the number of students visiting our health room for a mask. When you do your child’s daily health screening before coming to school, you can also check for the mask as part of your morning routine. Thanks for your help with this!

See You At Berry Blendz Tonight

Our Spirit Night at Berry Blendz Mainstreet is today, March 4th, from 3:00-6:00pm. Twenty percent of net sales will be donated to PCK. Please click here for the flier.

Show Your Sporting Spirit

The PCK Athletic Department is hosting a “Wear Your Favorite SPORTS Theme” dress down day next Thursday, March 11th, for the middle school basketball championships. For a donation of $1, all students may dress in their favorite sports-themed attire. Members of the PCK basketball team will be out during morning carpool to collect the donations. Please remember to follow the dress down day dress code.

Spring Break Fun At PCK

If you are looking for a fun-filled way for your student to spend spring break (March 15-19), our Core Care Club is here to help! Simply visit the C3 web page and complete the spring break interest form. The action-packed, camp-style programing planned for this week is sure to make it a break kids will remember.

Dance Fit News From The Foundation

The PCK Foundation hopes you’ve seen the information about the upcoming Dance Fit fundraiser kicking off on March 22nd. We’re reaching out to make sure you’re in the loop so we can rally our families to participate in this fitness and character fundraiser. The school’s goal is to raise $50,000 for additional student and teacher laptops, and continued support of the THEO and REO programs. We think our families can make a big difference through their efforts and hope you think so, too!

You can give, share your student’s fundraising link with others, or both! If this is not the right time to financially give, we fully understand. Simply sharing about our fundraiser online IS supporting it. You’ll learn more about how to easily do that on funrun.com next week.

Also, did you know that our fundraiser has corporate matching? Click here to search your employer’s name to see if they’ll match your donation. Then, when you give on funrun.com, you can select your employer and it could DOUBLE YOUR DONATION to our school!

Thanks in advance for your involvement. This is going to be a great opportunity for all students to participate in fun, engaging character lessons and a high-energy event which will allow them to show their school spirit and help make a difference in a big way!

Thank you, PCK Families! Teachers and staff enjoyed Rory’s for lunch, and especially all the drinks and treats our PCK families donated to the event.

Snacks = Happy Testers

image of snack food packagesCMAS testing can work up quite an appetite, and our students love getting special snacks during test week. We will start testing after spring break, so it is time to start collecting snacks to feed our hungry students. If you can donate snacks, please sign up here. Thanks for your help!

Thank You, Heart Heroes

kids heart challenge logoThank you to everyone who donated to the American Heart Association during our Kids Heart Challenge. We raised $1,293.77, and our students had a great time with their jump rope challenges. We appreciate all you do to encourage your students to be heart-healthy!

What To Do When Others Get Angry

We use the principles of Love and Logic at PCK, and we recently received this great article written by Dr. Charles Fay. It gives practical tips for responding when your child, or anyone else, is angry with you. With all of the stress people have been under in the past year, we know tempers can run unusually high and these strategies are very helpful. You can also teach your student to use them!

Share Your Well-Wishes

We are planning a special bulletin board to say thank you to Mrs. Aplin for her 19 years of leadership and service to our school. If you and/or your student would like to give her a card, share a special memory, send in a photograph, or otherwise share your appreciation for her, please drop it off at the front desk of the school and we will add it to our board. Thanks for helping us send Mrs. Aplin off in style as we let her know how much she means to us all.

Connecting With Character

Wordle containing words such as trustworthiness, responsibility, respect, and many others. Our 1st – 4th grade students are continuing their unit on managing strong emotions, while our kindergarteners are learning about this month’s character trait of dependability. You can find out what your student is learning in Character Coaching using the Home Links below. These make it easy for you to talk about character with your student and reinforce lessons at home. These do not need to be signed or returned to school.

News From Our Littlest Learners

Imagination met engineering as junior kindergarteners constructed a bakery using blocks while we played outside. See the oven they created? The wood chips are the dough as the students pretended to bake cakes, pies, and buns. As they worked, they made changes to the top of the bakery and added doors to the oven. What an amazing creation!

Thank You To Our Safety Dads

image that says think safety first

Our teachers and staff send a huge THANK YOU to our PTA and to all of the PCK families who made today’s lunch so special for us. Thank you so much Blaise and Dave Singer for shoveling the blacktop in our playground area after last week’s snow day! It was wonderful for our students to have a snow-free option while out at recess. Thanks a million for your hard work. It is very much appreciated!

Thank you to Cub Scout Pack 369 for the amazing basket of goodies you brought for our staff. There was something for everyone in that huge assortment of treats, and we all loved it!

Thank you to the Dedus family for bringing us carrot cake bites. These are great for both breakfast and an afternoon snack! Thanks so much for thinking of us with this sweet treat.
